Today the post office man told me I looked heavy in the pic on my debit card. Then he went on to detail why he thought so and ask me if that was the case. So can I send the package now that you've made me thoroughly uncomfortable?

xoxo vcn

Dear VCN: I love you but ever since you got so big it hasn't been the same. I miss when it was just a few of us and we always sang songs. Also I miss coming home and NOT getting sick because the newbies don't know I'm allergic to green bell peppers- my fault for not informing... Can we do something about this? Maybe we can make a VCN blog to better communicate so we don't fight over west/south locales and we can call it "please don't make anne throw up from peppers the day her boss comes back from china" maybe?

Post Cards

I received these 2 awesome postcards today. Need I say more?

for when you feel stressed

Seriously I'm not a you tube person but this is too good.

late to the bonfire oops

This was a bonfire in Bartrams for Aaron's bday- however I arrived rather late. Luckily I gave him the card (designed by my 7yo neighbor) and the 7yo jar of pickled eggplant from Dyson's (father of Iranian Archy) garden (ps. CPT hope you didn't plan to eat that ever.. kinda old and gross right- the eggplant not the man) just before he left. However, some of my favorite people were still there and we had some fun right next to the river.
Do they make people any better than these two? Doubt it.
Putting out the fire? or...
P.S. thanks Ben (other Ben) for yelling at me on the GF bridge for no reason wanker. Va te faire enculé!
Surprise! Love you R!

So embarrassing but anyways...

So had a nice quiet friday with good people.
P.S. That bottle of rum is full of water to put with the pastis

And... this is the embarrassing photo... Marky and Lauren are all over and they visited my Aunt Mary and found this pic in her big ol' book of nieces and nephews. Learning is Fun right?
Now that you've all seen me in a diaper I guess I can pretty much post anything here huh.

I live in a library

This is my friend's library that happens to contain a bed. It's where I sleep. I have access to a bazillion awesome books that I could never afford. That's my laundry basket on top of a stack of books on top of a stack of files on top of a stack of un-filed papers. Also that's my new mandolin. I bought it instead of a new phone (which is actively self-destructing) because I totally have my priorities straight. Thank you Brooks and Elvis for taking me to the music store! I learned 2 new songs this week.

View from the bed. If you take these 2 pics and multiply by about 17, that's how many books are in here. They also are stacked on the floor so maybe x18 or 19! It's slightly awesome but makes me feel like I should read every single one immediately.

Sunday Funday?

So as I mentioned- my great friend got me a job right when I came back working for an Art Historian/Archaeologist at the museum. It's been great and I really like the people I work with- especially this Iranian girl that my boss brought over to work on the project that I'm running (poor thing I was trying to take her out with me and meet people- one night she and I met friends at Dock Street, then went to my friends' place where we cut off Justin's dreads with a knife in the kitchen- maybe a little too much west philly for one day)

Anyways, I've been auditing (and administering) one of her classes- Art and Archy of Ancient Iran, so I spent much of the weekend reading reading reading. This is my reading tonight.

I usually camp out in the kitchen to read etc...tonight was less productive. All the boys were all up in my business and I wanted to tell them how uninterested I am in talking about their 20y0 girlfriends or how to cook noodles (!) etc...but I don't pay rent so...smile and nod much. I would just read in the room I'm staying in but its full of books that distract me- I'll put pictures for context.

Here we go again...

And I mean that both in the sense that I'm trying a new blog, and that I'm giving Philadelphia another go round.. Update- I have been a rather transient individual this summer... after living on my wonderful brother's couch for 2 months I have been at a my incredible friend's 6br house since August...lots of work and there are mice and I never know what to do when I catch them- currently there is a dead one next to the microwave- needless to say I've eaten no dinner tonight. (Have to say this friend is the best- living in his house and he got me a job like 2 days after I got back- and did I mention he has beautiful eyes?) Oh and there are five 23 yo boys that just moved in. awesome. Love having the " OMG working everyday is so hard and you don't have summers off" convo like twice a week. They are sweet, just very 23.. but act more like 19ish (ie flip cup and pot brownies when I'm trying to work ;). I move to S 47th October 1.. 1br (hopefully no mice or 23 yo boys hiding around). So I promise to do my best at this blog thing. If you wanna check out a great blog you should go to http://thegreatadvanture.blogspot.com/
- it's Mark (brother) and Lauren's awesome hippy dippy van travel blog that involves them, a van, and every national park ever. Will post something of actual interest soon...
